Another Health service in Victoria chose Allocate for its electronic rostering and attendance management solution

Northern Health is the key provider of public healthcare in Melbourne’s northern region and operates five major public healthcare facilities. It has a unique mix of services including medical, surgical, emergency, intensive and coronary care, paediatrics, women’s and maternal health, mental health, aged care, palliative care, and rehabilitation programs.

Michelle Fenwick, Executive Director People and Culture at Northern Health, said the organisation have been in an outsourced model for rostering that wasn’t fully meeting their needs in a timely manner. Because of this, they made the decision to bring rostering back in house to improve the visibility and have better control over their staff costs. Mid-this year, they decided to go through a procurement tender process and Allocate was successfully the elected partner.

Ms Fenwick said they chose Allocate as its solution ‘meets their business needs’. With a strong presence in the market place, Allocate is the leading provider of rostering solutions for public health.

“The right rostering system should enable you have the right person, on the right shift with the right skillset to see the right activity coming through at the right price. And when matching the rosters with patient flow then this is when you start to identify the savings or break even,” Ms Fenwick said.

Ms Fenwick explained that in a few months, Northern Health will be running the latest version of Allocate’s Cloud Rostering solution, enabling more than 5,000 staff to access rosters and submit shift or leave requests from their mobile devices, anywhere, at any time.

Allocate Software APAC Managing Director Matt Durston said the partnership will improve data management at Northern Health by keeping all its information hosted and secure in the Australian Allocate Cloud.

“After a rigorous tender process, Northern Health chose Allocate because of its extensive experience in the healthcare sector and the ease of use of our software solution.

“We are instrumental in supporting Northern Health’s growth and are delivering this support via our automated solution Allocate Cloud that lowers overall operational costs and gives staff more time to spend on patient care,” he said.

Allocate is now the leading provider of health specific rostering solutions for Victoria’s public hospitals and health services that includes Barwon Health, Eastern Health, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Women’s Hospital, Peninsula Health, , Ballarat Health Service, the Hume Rural Health Alliance and all hospitals in the Grampians sub-region amongst others.
