Barwon Health in Victoria has signed a five-year contract with Allocate to implement an electronic rostering and attendance management solution across the health service.
Barwon Health is one of Australia’s largest regional employers with more than 7,000 staff employed across primary care, community services, aged care, rehabilitation, mental health, emergency and acute care services.
The Director of Remuneration Services at Barwon Health Peter Brooke said the organisation was currently using manual processes to manage these activities, which were both time consuming and inefficient.
“We were looking for a system to automate and bring efficiencies to these processes,” he said.
Mr Brooke said 400 managers would be trained in how to use the system, which would give the organisation one tool for rostering and capturing time and attendance records for employees.
“The Allocate system will improve the way we roster and provide visibility of vacant shifts, so we can improve how best to use our labour resources.”
Allocate Software general manager Matt Durston said Barwon Health went through a rigorous procurement process and chose to partner with Allocate Software because of its extensive experience in the healthcare sector and the functionality and ease of use of its software solution.
“This new partnership will provide Barwon Health with cost efficiencies and improvements in the way it rosters its staff, through smart rostering and skills matching for clinical requirements,” he said.
“An automated rostering solution, which is hosted in the cloud, creates more time for staff to spend on patient care, offers more equitable access to overtime opportunities and lowers overall operational costs.”
Barwon Health joins a prestigious list of Allocate customers including The Royal Children’s Hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Women’s Hospital, Northern Health, Peninsula Health, Eastern Health, and Ballarat Health Service.
Allocate is now the leading provider of Health specific rostering solutions for Victoria’s public hospitals and health services. The company is also provider of the state-wide rostering solution for NSW Health.
