RLDatix was proud to serve as Platinum Plus sponsor at this year’s Digital Health Festival, held on 13–14 May at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Over two inspiring days, our team engaged with leaders, innovators and clinicians across the sector to explore how digital health solutions can drive real-world impact – not just for systems, but for people.

From keynote sessions to panel discussions, from deep conversations to cookie-fueled chats at our booth, the energy was electric – and the ideas shared will help shape the next phase of healthcare in Australia.
Keynote Spotlight: Uniting’s Journey to an Empowered Workforce
Brad Kearns, Head of Strategic Workforce Planning & Talent Acquisition, Uniting NSW.ACT
Session: How Uniting Leveraged its Systems to Increase Workforce Utilisation, Efficiency and Compliance
Date: Tuesday, 13 May | 9:30 AM

Brad delivered a compelling story of how Uniting used RLDatix’s workforce solutions to drive system-wide change. From better roster alignment and reduced agency costs to supporting RN 24/7 and care minute compliance, his session focused on outcomes that truly matter to staff.
“It’s not just about systems. It’s about bringing everything together to make life easier for people on the ground.”
The biggest impact? Creating a more empowered, data-informed and satisfied workforce that’s supported to deliver high-quality care.

Panel Recap: Rethinking Risk and Digital Health Culture
Session: Balancing Organisational Limitations with Clinical Aspirations
Panelists: Anja Nikolic (CEO, AIDH), Richard Hazeltine (Sales Director, RLDatix), Ben Lepke (Co-Founder, HealthPass), Sam Gluck (Northern Adelaide LHN)
Date: Wednesday, 14 May | 12:30 PM

This dynamic panel tackled one of healthcare’s most pressing tensions: how do we move forward in a system full of limitations, forms, and workforce strain — while still delivering excellent care?
Here were the key themes:
- The risk of doing nothing: We often talk about system risk — but rarely about the risk of staying still. Change is itself a necessary safeguard.
- Form fatigue is real: Overwhelming administrative burden is preventing staff from doing the work that matters.
- Underutilised staff = lost staff: Some organisations see up to 70% of rostered staff not receiving contracted hours. This disconnection is driving attrition.
- Reframe procurement: Don’t start with “what do we want the system to do?” Start with “what outcome do we want to achieve?” Then work with vendors to build for that.
- Empower autonomy: Digital health solutions only succeed when staff are trained, empowered, and resourced to use them well — not just when they’re implemented.
- Put people at the centre: Every system and process must prioritise people — both staff and patients.
“Everything we do must keep our people at the heart. And we must ask: what happens if we don’t?”
